Big Grey Sound Studio continues to lead the way as Prince Edward Island’s top recording and production facility. The studio has been in operation for over seven years now, with owner (and award-winning engineer/producer)
Jon Matthews at the helm.

Big Grey Sound Studio has won Music PEI’s prestigious Recording Studio Of The Year award three times, and is a 2009, 2010 and 2011 East Coast Music Award nominee for both Studio of the Year and Engineer of the Year (Jon Matthews). We've worked on ECMA-winning albums for Grass Mountain Hobos and Meaghan Blanchard, as well as ECMA-nominated recordings for Cynthia MacLeod, Colette Cheverie, and Paper Lions. Albums recorded at Big Grey Sound Studio have also won many Music PEI awards over the years.

Big Grey Sound Studio has a NEW HOME!

Alright, so the building is no longer grey...but we're now up and running just minutes outside Charlottetown in a gorgeous, countryside valley. A very inspirational place to work, and defiinitely a magical part of Prince Edward Island. Plans are underway to build some beautiful new studios here, but in the meantime, we're fully functional and ready to work with you in our cozy new space!
